SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTION OF PROFESSOR V. B. BURBELO TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF ROMANCE PHILOLOGY AND FRANCOPHONIE IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The article is dedicated to the 70^th birthday of V. B. Burbelo, professor of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. As a renowned philologist, she has gone a long way from teacher to professor at her alma mater having raised several generations of romance philologists. V. B. Burbelo is remarkable as a professional for serving the ideals of democratic society, culture, education, development of independent Ukraine as a worthy partner of France, Europe and international organisations. Nowadays, she is one of the leading specialists in Romance languages in Ukraine who succeeded in making a valuable contribution to Ukrainian humanitaristics. Her work has received numerous rewards including "Order of Academic Palms" (Knight grade). The article deals with the milestones of her professional journey.
